Jesus was a real figure who lived around 5BC to 28AD in the countries we know today as Israel and Palestine. There are many references to Jesus in the  historical record of the time, apart from the Bible. Today he has over 1,600,000,000 followers.

Jesus is more than a real historical person who lived on earth for 33 years -- he was God's son. In the bible, the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John tell what Jesus did in the last three years of his life. Jesus spent his time teaching about God, healing people, performing miracles, and giving hope to many.

While he had the full attributes of God, he was human. He experienced temptation, tiredness, hunger, thirst, and pain. He knew how it felt to be angry, disappointed, happy, surprised, elated, despairing.

The heart of the Christian message is that God so loved the world that he sent his son, Jesus, to die for all people, But more than that, he raised Jesus to life to conquer sin and to show he was greater than death itself.

What do I have to do to become a Christian?

  • Admit that you are a sinner. The Bible tells us in Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard" (NLT)
  • Believe that Jesus is your Lord and Saviour. The Bible tells us in 2 Peter 2:20 "They were made free from the evil in the world by knowing our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ" (NCV)
  • Confess your need to be saved. The Bible says in Romans 10:9 "For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (NLT)
