+ On this occasion we introduce Nita Brown, a gifted creative artist, who lives locally at Avoca Beach.
+ After training in London in dressmaking and design, Nita began teaching, including modern embroidery.
+ From that time she commenced creating banners, one of which was commissioned by the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem, and which now hangs in the foyer there.
+ Her designs feature in banners, windows and other significant spiritual works across Sydney in a number of churches and church-based retirement villages of several denominations.
+ She is the Christian Witness consultant for Anglican Retirement Villages.
+ Nita is the author of the book ‘Banners 2000’, the story behind her creation of the six banners displayed at the “Share the Holy Spirit” conferences from 1995 to 2000.
+ With her knowledge and training in finer arts skills, Nita brings a depth and warmth to creative embroidery and banner making.
+
+ Come and hear the stories of how Nita’s designs and embroidery come together - sometimes just in the nick of time. More importantly, find out Who it is that inspires her work!

The girls and the Church all bring in items weeks before hand to put in special shoeboxes that are given out to children all around the world to show them that someone does love them. This year we are spending two whole nights putting boxes together because we make so many and the girls love it so much.r />r />Last year we made 60 boxes!

- Chat and choose meets on Tuesdays at 9:30am
+ Chat & Choose is a craft group for women meeting Tuesdays, 9.30am-12noon during school terms.

Crafts taught include Patchwork, Quilting, Sewing Projects, Scrapbooking, Card Making, Silk Ribbon Embroidery, Jewellery Making.

Cost for morning, including morning tea - $4.00.

They hold monthly events for the mothers and kids and the bi monthly events for just the mums (all mums need a break once in a while ;-) )
+ All mums of children under school age are invited to attend. It is a place where mums can chat about being mums while their kids have fun. No pressures, no set program just a relaxed atmosphere for all!

Activities include: Monthly lunches held around the Central Coast, generally held on the third Friday of the month from 11.30am and are cheap activities at a local park or somewhere similar.

They also have bi monthly Mums & NO Minis activities - giving mums a chance to be kid free for a night/day. A chance to let their hair down!
