Girls Brigade
Girls brigade meets on Wednesday nights at 7pm
At Erina Community Baptist we try to create an atmosphere of fun where girls can do girl things and spend time with other girls.
Girls' Brigade is for all school age girls all the way from Kindergarten to Year 12. An average night would include some together activites like, singing and games or devotions and then we would break up into smaller age orientated groups doing special activities to work towards our end of year badges.
Every year at Erina we participate in Operation Christmas Child - which the girls LOVE! The girls and the Church all bring in items weeks before hand to put in special shoeboxes that are given out to children all around the world to show them that someone does love them. This year we are spending two whole nights putting boxes together because we make so many and the girls love it so much.
Last year we made 60 boxes!

Every second year we do an extra badge together as a company called "Operation Reachout". In this we learn about GB in other countries and all about their cultures. We cook, we create, we sing and we learn all new games.
On top of all this we also have a camp every year. One year it is just our group, and the next year we get together with all the GB's on the coast. This year we are holding our camp in November and our theme is "Pirates" (not very lady like but definetly lots of fun!). To help keep the cost down for the camp we are doing a very special fundraiser on June 16th. We are asking people to sponsor the girls in a hike. We are even asking people to sponsor the poor leaders who also have to do the hike!
Throughout GB there are lots of special events and activities for the girls to attend:
- Kuikardu which is a big State GB event
- SOS - also known as Seniors Over Sydney (or Newcastle) where year 7 and year 8 girls spend all night out doing special things all with NO sleep!
- Junior Kooringal - this is a week long camp in between term three and four
- Divisional Church Parade - a big service for all the GB's on the coast
- And . . . when you get to be a Pioneer that is in year nine and up you can do heaps of stuff - braids (special state camps), Duke of Edinburgh scheme, Queens Award and Pioneer Pin (to name a few).
